Over the past academic year, the pupils of the Smile at School team have worked hard to raise money for the exchange trip of Phena from Ghana, a student they met during the trip to Ghana in June 2025. Among other things, by participating in the Ronde Hoep Run in Ouderkerk, they raised enough money for her flight ticket.
On 7 September, Phena arrived in the Netherlands. Over the coming weeks, she will be taking English-language lessons at HWC, amongst other things, and will get to know Dutch culture by going out and about with the pupils of Smile at School.
We wish Phena a lovely time in the Netherlands!
