Do you want to register your child for year 8 or higher? Do you live in Amstelland and have you chosen a school in the Amstelland region for your transition to secondary school? In that case, the assumption is that your child will be offered a place at a school in the region. For this, it is important that you register your child at two locations.
1. Central registration
Before 1 May, register your child via the Central registration form van Amstelland. You will state a first, second, and third preference. It is important that you fill in all three preferences.
Please note: Enrolling in vmbo-t 2 (mavo 2) is not possible at HWC.
2. Enrolment at the first-choice school
Additionally, you must also register your child with your first-choice school before 1 May. Use this form to register your child with the HWC.
Once both forms have been completed, your first-choice school will request information from your child's current school. As soon as this information is received, your child will be placed on the waiting list for lateral entry in the Amstelland region. Your first-choice school will contact you to confirm the application.
Applications are processed in order of receipt.
At the end of the school year, schools in Amstelland will discuss all applications. You will then receive a notification about a possible placement. In some cases, an intake interview will follow.
Finally, it is important that you maintain good contact with your child's current school. This way, we can ensure together that they are well prepared for any transition. View the full Procedure for registering as a lateral entrant into secondary education.
