EDUCATION AT THE HWC

High quality with attention to you

In our education, we strive for high quality, combined with attention to you as an individual. The atmosphere in the lessons is good, and with the 80-minute lessons, there is sufficient time to practise and ask your teacher questions if you don't understand something. Furthermore, we prepare you for a world that is bigger than the classroom.

Where we make a difference:

Outlook on the world

At all levels, you can choose between regular or bilingual education (TTO). In TTO, you follow some subjects in Dutch and others in English. There are also all kinds of activities and projects where you learn more about other cultures and global issues. Part of the programme includes excursions to Canterbury, the European Parliament, and an exchange with a school abroad.

CHOOSE WHAT FITS

Creative talent or aptitude for science?

In both cases, you've come to the right place. As a CultuurProfielSchool, we offer a wide range of education in theatre, music, and art. For STEM students, there are challenging projects and events, such as the annual STEM Day and the Cyber Conference. Whatever your personal talent may be, we will help you develop it.

ROOM TO GROW

Unfold yourself

Perhaps you'd also like to do something outside of your lessons. For example, discussing themes or working on a project with others. In that case, the students' council might be for you, or the Gender and Sexuality Alliance. Or perhaps Kunstblik or a choir, theatre, or music group? It's all possible!

What makes learning so fun at HWC?

Our pupils speaking:

Carolina from 2nd [year/grade]

I've chosen the HWC because I can follow bilingual education here. It's not a school where you just have to learn from books, but a school where you learn through practical experience.

I don't really have a favourite subject. I usually find religion and history interesting; depending on the topics we are covering.

Boaz from 1d

My sister already attended this school, and my church is also located at the school. This made it somewhat familiar territory for me, and HWC was a logical choice. The school feels good. I also like the 80-minute timetable; this way, you have to carry fewer books because you have fewer lessons per day. You have to walk back and forth less and can really delve deeper into subjects.

We find the gymnasium a very enjoyable challenge.
