Support for the HWC

WHAT YOU NEED
Temporary support
You may need some support. Your mentor is your first point of contact for this. Perhaps you need help in another way, for example from a study coach, who can support you with planning and study skills. We take dyslexia or dyscalculia into account, by allowing extra time for tests and the option to use dyslexia software or a calculation chart. Do you not yet sufficiently master Dutch because you have not been in our country for long? In that case, you are entitled to extra time for tests and can follow the Dutch as a Second Language (NT2) lessons. We also offer special lessons for gifted students, through the project ‘Gaaf voor de Start’. Furthermore, we offer various forms of socio-emotional support. For example, we have student counsellors and a school social worker with whom you can talk about certain matters. You can follow a training course in which you learn to strengthen your social skills, or learn to deal with school stress.
Additionally, you can always approach our deans for information on subject and profile choices, or your study and career choices.
Would you like to know more about the support options at the HWC? Then look in the Basic Support Document or on the parent portal.
EXTRA HELP NEEDED
Extra support
We also offer extra support for issues such as concentration problems or autism spectrum disorder. We then look together at what you need and a support worker can provide you with suitable education.
