Who are we?
The Hermann Wesselink College is a school for bilingual and Dutch-speaking secondary vocational education (vmbo-t, havo, atheneum and gymnasium). The school is characterized by a committed and open learning environment. Collegial cooperation is the key to success. We are a learning school and there is room for innovation. There is great attention to pedagogical climate, internationalization, and art and culture.
In the German section, we work together on lesson development, assessment and curriculum development. We share materials, learn from each other and work together on the continuous German curricula from lower to upper secondary level.
As a DSD school, we belong to a select group of schools in the Netherlands that prepare students for the Deutsches Sprachdiplom. This gives our German subject an extra depth of content and international relevance. You are involved in a strong language program in which communication, culture, and authentic language skills are central. Furthermore, our students work on projects and assignments that make the subject more appealing.
Since the beginning of 2021, we have been working in a beautiful new school building with excellent facilities.
New teachers are well supported by specially trained coaches, so that they can quickly feel at home and develop positively.
