The Hermann Wesselink College in Amstelveen is looking for an enthusiastic 1st-degree German teacher (0.5 to 0.7 FTE) to join our team, also willing to teach in the lower school.

What can we offer you?
This is a position of 0.5 to 0.7 FTE which, subject to a successful trial period, offers the prospect of a permanent contract. In addition to teaching in the upper years, this role comes with an appropriate salary; the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the CAO VO. In addition, you will be provided with a device on loan, an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%, a holiday allowance of 8% and a travel allowance topped up to 23 cents per kilometre via the exchange scheme.

Who are we?
The Hermann Wesselink College is a school for bilingual and Dutch-language VMBO-T, HAVO, Atheneum and Gymnasium. The school is characterised by a committed and open learning environment. Collegial collaboration is the key to success. We are a learning school and there is room for innovation. There is a strong focus on education in the STEM subjects, internationalisation, and art and culture.
On VMBO-T, HAVO and VWO, we train our pupils for the standard German examination and, on VWO, also for obtaining the Deutsches Sprach Diplom (DSD). For this reason, a lot of German is spoken in the lower school lessons too, and the skills of reading, speaking, listening and writing are offered according to DSD didactics. The HWC is one of the few schools in the Netherlands with the ‘DSD school’ predicate, and we are very proud of that.
Since the beginning of 2021, we have been working in a beautiful new school building with excellent facilities and good ventilation.
