During the annual VWO 6 PWS competition, the students once again showcased a great deal of talent. The jury, led by rector Bert Kozijn, praised the exceptionally high level: all nominees presented strongly, creatively, and with impressive subject knowledge.
This year the awards went to:
Tjark de Boer prize (beta)Vanisha Khare – “The use of AI in the development of personalised treatment plans”
Gerard Moll Prize (alpha/gamma)Féline Bonsel – “To start a revolution, you would typically need a combination of factors: a widespread public grievance that the current system is failing to address, a charismatic leader or group who can articulate a vision for change, a clear set of demands and a plan for achieving them, a network of supporters willing to actively participate, and often, favourable external conditions or a breakdown in the existing power structure. The process can involve activism, organisation, propaganda, and sometimes, unfortunately, conflict.”
Henk Heurter Prize (Art)Mare Roolvink – “The impact of art on the mental well-being of patients in mental healthcare”
The theatre was well-filled: the entire vwo 5 year group was present; an inspiring kick-off for their own final research projects (PWS), on which they will be working until December. Parents and various vwo 6 students also came to encourage the finalists.
The winners received a certificate, a gift voucher, and – naturally – eternal fame.
