The Hermann Wesselink College has received a special gift from the municipality of Amstelveen: the large outdoor chessboard that stood in the Stadshart square for years. Because there is no longer a suitable place for it there – due to the renovation of the square – the municipality has donated the board and the accompanying chess pieces to our school.
The chessboard has now been beautifully placed on our school playground. Pupils can play a game of chess together during a free period or break, or even after school.
On behalf of the pupils, we would like to sincerely thank the municipality of Amstelveen for this wonderful addition to our school.
