On Friday 7 October, the Ukrainian Crossover Class (UCC) baked 'appelflappen', ate a delicious typical Dutch lunch and had a lesson about Dutch culture.
We had a lot of fun peeling, slicing and putting cinnamon and sugar on the apples and finally eating the 'appelflappen', of course! There were even a few pupils who were eager to hand out the 'appelflappen' to the principal, luckily he liked them too!
The Dutch lunch with white buns, chocolate sprinkles, 'schuddebuikjes', peanut butter and, of course, 'bitterballen' was also appreciated very much. Afterwards, the pupils had a fun interactive lesson on Dutch culture with Mrs Bot and then the weekly boardgames were played with pupils from all over the school. It was a very nice, successful day!
